"LIONS IN THE DESERT" AVAILABLE BY FRIDAY!

I've been working for awhile on a book about Paul of Thebes for several months now. Paul ("Bola" in Arabic) is one of the key founders of the worldwide Christian Monastic movement. I have finally finished checking the third proof copy. It will be available as a Kindle digital product and as a paperback on Amazon by Thursday or Friday of this week. I say Paul is "one of the key founders" because though he was the first of the "Desert Fathers", his successor, Antony of Egypt, is the man normally given credit for establishing the monastic system. Since little is known of his long life I decided with my excellent imagination and knowledge of history to fill in the long gaps of his life. I attempt to explain how he got from his wealthy starting point in Thebes, Egypt to life as a praying hermit in Egypt's eastern mountains. For me this was a labor of love in which my main character gets to relive much of the Bible (Old and New Testaments) over the long span of his 113 years. I hope you find it inspiring and edifying. dp
