BEST BOOKS OF MINE . . . LATELY!

I recently received a notice from my publisher at Amazon. They indicated that I'd had two sales so far in January. The books were some of my own favorites: Passage to Iona (A Story of St. Columba of Ireland) and The Minco Diaries: A Homeless Man Comes Home. Both of these are Christian fiction though set in very different times: the first in Sixth Century Scotland and the second set in the early years of this new millennium. Since then I had a book signing at a local church I attend. Several people mentioned their favorites to me: Throw Away That Sermon, which is anecdotes from my life as a pastor; and It Was Christmas Once, a collection of original Christmas stories, including one that's based on events at St. Paul's U. M. Church in Las Cruces, NM. Also someone mentioned Dreams of the Match Girl which is a story based on an imagined alternative outcome of Hans Andersen's old story "The Little Match Girl." Several people told me they read these stories over again. Like my book marks all say, I write about love, redemption, and forgiveness. That of course comes from my own life as a United Methodist pastor (now retired).

It occurred to me you might like two other short books a lot: The Thanksgiving Plate, a story of a family's entertaining a mysterious visitor on Thanksgiving Day and The Happy Harper: A Story of Sir Orfeo. The latter was a petty English King or baron who actually lived in the Thirteenth Century, A. D., An old Middle English poem tells his story in lyric, rhythmic form. I wrote this book turning poetry into an imaginative narrative filled with magic, fantasy, and old superstitions and practices,, endemic to Medieval England. I just read through this again myself and made minor corrections on the flow of the plot. It's a good read! It occurs to me that in all my books divine justice prevails. That is the bad guys always get punished in this life! In reality of course the genuinely bad guys only get punished in the final judgement after they die. But real divine justice does sometimes occur in the here and now. A good example of that is how the former vice president, a man named Biden, plundered many classified documents from various sources, stored them in his private home and leaked some of their contents to our enemy the commonist chai sneeze.!

So! As I always say, Read widely, Think clearly, and Act nobly. To which I would add wait for God's justice to evil-doers. It will surely come!

Oh! And of course get your copy of The Happy Harper here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C7G9WWD?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860
