"IRON MAIDENS" Gets More (Artificially) Intelligent!

I just finished rereading Iron Maidens: A Story of Future World. This was my very first science fiction novel, and was written first in installments going back ten years ago. I think it's a pretty good tale about man's battle against artificial intelligence once the latter decides to subdue man. I'm realizing it's also a good story about unintended consequences. That is, here's a man who means well. He intends to do the best he can for himself and many others. And yet when he accomplishes his mission, in the way that he accomplishes it, he inadvertently causes things to happen he never planned on. Needless to say they are not all good! I think this is a relevant topic to explore just now. Our government, and our governors, have made decisions for us on account of the rapid spread of the Wuhan China virus. Here are some unintended consequences, some good and some bad. The good ones: more people in the United States are discovering they can do home schooling for their children. And for many of them, and their children are learning more than ever before now that they have the guided persuasion to learn and freedom to do this on an altered schedule. The bad ones include at least: a.) a greatly damaged economy with special damage to the small business, small company owners who are the back-bone of our nation's economy. And b.) death by loneliness of many thousands of elderly people in institutionalized care (especially in places like New York State where the governor took a bad problem and made it far worse). But back to Iron Maidens. The only changes I made this time around were a.) turning the chapter numbers into normal ones, not italicized ones; and b.) rewriting some of the opening text book quotations from a fictional book by future robotic scientist, Eduard Leopold Pitzer.

Cover of Iron Maidens . . . .

Okay, I'll admit I also fleshed out a little more the character of one of the main robots in the book. So if you like stories about the future event horizon, I think you'll enjoy this read. Speaking about pricing, I usually go with amazon's suggested price for a book. I reduce it later on after it's been out for awhile. And you can get your nice, new, cheap copy of this here or at the associated kindle store: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1985368846?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860
